Marc Luyckx Ghisi

The world is changing, don't be afraid!
3 lifes: first priest, then thinker and creator

Marc Luyckx is already in his third life. First priest and political thinker in the "Forward Studies Unit" of the European Commission and finally the creator of new schools of E-Management. He speaks countless languages. To his credit, thousands of writings including the transition to a new virtual economy where the human plays a central role. So three forces: spiritual, political and economic, which are ultimately intertwined. His ultimate goal: to achieve wisdom.

We are fortunate in Belgium to have one of the greatest futurists in the world. Find a meaning to this new world, such is his desire. And nothing to spoil, Marc Luyckx is an outstanding speaker. You will not forget this man with a malicious voice. Get inspired!

Marc Luyckx graduates in Mathematics and Philosophy, specializing in Catholic theology. He was ordained in Brussels. At the time, this is the time of Vatican II, the Church is open to change, thanks to a cardinal and a diocese that listen.

During that time, he meets many people, among others a woman, his future wife. He left his position in the Church. Six children later, Marc Luyckx says he does not regret his decision. "I become more spiritual but less Catholic," he says. It is now in the land of Gandhi that Mr Luyckx deepenes his spirituality. Vice-President of the International Council of Auroville, he goes there twice a year. A space of spirituality, not necessarily religious, but where all religions coexist. Auroville is to symbolize the higher level of consciousness which humanity is invited to arrive. This is an exciting target but difficult to achieve ...

Leaving his job in the Church means rebuilding his life. He is asked to join the "Forward Studies Unit" of the European Commission to which he devoted nine years of his life (1990-1999). "Exciting" he repeats. He examines issues such as religion, philosophy and sociology, in the event of a change of society accelerated by the immaterialization of the global economy. It is during this period that Europe is launched: Maastricht, the single currency, Amsterdam, plans to expand. Belgium appears small in such a vast Europe. Then the Santer Commission falls. He who had participated in the foundation of Europe is asked to leave, "gently of course."

Management School

He again must start from scratch and this time it is in education that Marc Luyckx rebounds. During a lunch in California with the World Business Academy, the question is asked of a new type of Management schools that also prepare for the virtual economy. One of his colleagues says to him: "Go for it!". No need to repeat it twice, because for him, schools look today as a industrial site preparing for an industrial carreers. But the economy has changed and we must make a clean sweep of current education. Placing the human - and his creativity – in the center of attention is the tool for future prosperity.

With his book 'Emergence of a new world', Marc Luyckx offers a vision of the future and positive changes to our world in crisis. His message is both for the general public and for businesses that go through reform processes.

Towards the new post-capitalist and post-industrial economy ?

The paradox is that many intellectuals currently discuss possible alternatives to our industrial economic system. But few observers realize that we are already in the EU 50% in a new immaterial economy of knowledge, and that the new economy is the official strategy of the EU.

This new economy no longer produces mere goods, but goods with an increasing proportion of intangible added value. Value creation is to apply knowledge to knowledge to produce new knowledge. The working tool is the human person, the new "capital"! It is for this reason that Peter Drucker dares to speak of post-capitalist society, as the financial capital becomes less important than the human.

Win-win strategies, qualitative growth and therefore totally sustainable, human-centered management is the new production. And there is a good news: the immaterial economy is potentially sustainable and growing companies strongly towards social inclusion policies and effective enforcement of the environment.

What is the meaning of European integration today?

Europe, Europe

Citizens "feel" and see that the EU is a big common market. But then what?

The European Union is a new political paradigm of non-violence between states. Whereas modernity invented the rule of law which establishes non-violence vis-à-vis persons within the state, transmodernity invents non-violence between states in a global world where war seems less of a politically viable and effective option.

The EU is much more than just a market, it is the most important political innovation of this century. But do we have open eyes to see and understand?

Women at the heart of change

International, Globalisation, Diversity, Authorities, Society, Globalisation, HR, Corporate Culture, Creativity, Innovation, Leadership, Strategy, Socially responsible Entrepreneurship, Creativity, Innovation, Trends, Inspiring

We are in a changing civilization because our society fails to provide a sustainable plan for the future, and therefore the credibility of the global economic and political system is decreasing day by day. We are moving towards a transmodern world, a post industrial world with post patriarchal values (softer) and we will be forced to give a sustainable future for generations to come. Women are the engine of change and play an increasing role. The statistics clearly show.

In economic terms we are already at 50% in the immaterial economy (knowledge society strategy = official EU) which operates entirely differently: win-win strategies, qualitative growth, management focuses on the human which is the new production tool, the end of patents, new relationship to objects, acquisition of intangible assets in the Stock Exchange.

Sciences and Religion

Philosophy, Spirituality, Religion, Sciences

In the context of a change of civilization, we find that the relationship between science and religion is transforming itself in depth. Mainly because the way to see science and religion is changing. There is the premodern vision, which some call "fundamentalist", the modern vision which is still dominant, and then the new and emerging vision we call transmodern.

In this new vision we see a striking similarity between what the most advanced quantum physics says and what the sages and mystics say in almost all cultures.

Education and creativity

Authorities, Society, Creativity, Innovation, Creativity, Innovation, Trends, Education, Pedagogy

The education system that is still in place today is to meet the needs of the industrial society which is coming to an end. The aim was to train people to keep pace with industrial machines in the factory. Creativity was not necessary and was rather an obstacle. She has been suppressed by education.

But now in the knowledge society, we need creative people capable to create knowledge and new ideas. The contrast between what the education system produces and what we need is striking. And everyone loses.

The education of the future must teach students to manage their learning process now and throughout their lives, create jobs from technologies that do not yet exist. Our young people must become "wise generalist" able to manage growth in a new civilization.
